Reconditioning Piston Crown
Crowns, usually present wear on the segment groove which inevitably leads to a passage of higher dimensions. A downgrade will be seen if this wear exceeds 0.6 mm. We have developed a reliable and proven method to restore the segment groove to it’s original dimension using LASER CLADDING.
At the reception, the crowns are meticulously cleaned and decreased and identified with a unique reference number to ensure traceability.
A complete and detailed inspection report is drawn up, included photos. This is sent to the customer for approval with the recommendations for repair.
The segment grooves are machined to remove the old chrome and are recharged using the technique of LASER CLADDING.
This is followed by precision machining of the grooves thus regaining their original dimensions and tolerances.
The work carried out on the crowns is approved and certified.
Reconditioning Aluminum Piston Skirt
Piston skirts can be completely refurbished in our workshops.
- Our unique aluminum welding service offers repair back to the original manufacturer's standards at a fraction of the cost of a new part.
- Upon receipt, all components are carefully cleaned, degreased and identified by a unique reference number to ensure traceability.
- A full inspection report is produced, including photographs which is sent to the client for approval, including recommendations for repair.
- The skirt is then machined to remove any defects existing and grooves, if oversized are prepared for the aluminum welding process.
- The aluminum welding process is then carried out for the defective areas.
- It is followed by precision re-machining of the grooves and other welded areas return to original limits and tolerances, made in our
own workshops.
- The skirt is then cleaned and completed.
Reconditioning: Connecting rod
Belle Repair (Connecting rod)
We repair and recondition rods with or without serrations for all 4-stroke engines.
Upon receipt, all connecting rods are cleaned and thoroughly inspected. The connecting rods are tested for cracks and micro cracks at Magnaflux.
Our repair procedure:
- Machining and reconditioning of connecting rods
- Magnaflux to detect cracks and micro cracks
- Machining of contact surfaces and damaged serration restoration
- Machining of the big end, bores to remove the ovalization
- After machining, new Magnaflux test
- Precision and finish obtained according to OEM specifications
- Certification - on request (LR, DNV, ABS, BV, NK, GL or other)
- Packaging (long life)
All repairs are carried out by CNC and erosion technology offering the best possible finish of the serrations, which allows quick completion times regardless of the brand or type.
Recondition: Exhaust valve cage
We provide full reconditioning services for valve cages. We believe that there is no shortcut for producing a first class refurbished product. We have established the correct welding parameters, pre and post treatment heating thus eliminating the probability of cracking due to the use of incorrect materials and procedures. Our repair procedures are strictly controlled to guarantee a quality repair.
The valve seat and contact face of the water-cooled cages is removed - often updating complete blockage or erosion coolant passages.
- We install, a new valve seat, previously stellated to ensure hardness.
- The closing or corroding passages are reset and the seat is then welded to the body.
- Material analyzes are done to ensure the correct matching material is used for the new headquarters. Finishing machining is carried out with extreme care. Attention to detail is essential, especially on the stellite valve seat and the contact surface (mounting) cage.
- The same meticulous attention to detail is applied to the reconditioning of upper and lower components of the two types of cage, cooled and uncooled.
- Before the exhaust valve cage is finished, we ream the location of the valve guide and install new valve guides.
- The exhaust valve cage is then painted, given a final inspection and packed and ready to go.
- The work carried out on the valve cages is approved and certified.
